Santiago L. Peralta,
Santiago L. Peralta, the eldest son of Dr. Daniel Peralta, our former President and Chief Executive Officer, was appointed to the Board of Directors on November 8, 2012 and as Interim CEO and President on January 1st, 2015. As a director, from 2012 through 2014, Mr. Peralta has focused on valuating projects and opportunities for Delta, incorporating analyses on financial projections, global and domestic strategy and expansion, and macro- and microeconomic factors. Prior to that, Mr. Peralta served as a Field Operations Manager for Delta and its subsidiary, SAHF, managing the entire company’s accounting and marketing; developing investor relations materials and presentations; directing the mud injection, water logistics team, and drilling contractors during operations; and negotiating and structuring local and foreign partnerships. Santiago graduated from Thunderbird School of Global Management with an international MBA focused in Global Strategy with Distinction, the highest graduating GPA of his class, and recognition for exceptional leadership. Santiago also graduated from WP Carey School of Business with a BS in Business Management with a focus in International Business with Honors.
Ms. Kristen L. Magnuson,
Ms. Magnuson joined the Delta Mutual management team in April, 2010 as interim CFO through a contract with Tatum, LLC, which provides experienced upper-level management members to companies in a transition stage. In August, she left Tatum, LLC and the contract was amended in order to continue to have her in staff. In addition to serving as a CFO of Delta, Ms. Magnuson currently holds a CFO position at AZ Digital Farms. Prior to joining Tatum LLC, she served as CFO and Executive VP of JDA Software Group, Inc. for 12 years, during which the company grew four-fold in total revenues. Before that, she served as Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis for Michael Stores, Inc from 1990-1997; Senior Vice President and Controller of Mera Bank from 1987-1990; and Senior Manager of audit department at Ernst & Young from 1978-1987. Ms. Magnuson holds a BBA degree in accounting from the University of Washington and active CPA licenses in Texas and Washington State.
Phillips W. Smith,
Chairman of the Board
Dr. Phillips W. (Phil) Smith, Ph.D has over 35 years of experience with high technology companies serving as both chief executive officer and chairman, and in corporate officer positions at three Fortune 500 Companies. From June 1990 to September 1997, Dr. Smith served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Zycad Corporation, a developer of engineering and manufacturing applications software. Previously, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CAE Systems (sold to Tektronix Inc. for $75M in 1986),and Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of EDGE Computer from 1986 through 1988. He has been Chairman of Delta Mutual, Inc. since April 25, 2013, Dr. Smith has been Chairman Emeritus of TASER International Inc. since October 23, 2006 and served as its Chairman until October 23, 2006. Dr. Smith holds a B.S. degree from West Point, an M.B.A. degree from Michigan State University, and a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from St. Louis University.
